LV systolic function — grade
Grades LV systolic function from LVEF with a single threshold for men and women (normal ≥ 50%, mildly reduced 41–49%, moderately reduced 30–40%, severely reduced < 30%), matching the universal definition of heart failure, calculates biplane LVEF and fractional shortening, flags subclinical dysfunction by global longitudinal strain, and maps LVEF to the heart failure phenotype (ESC 2026: HFrEF < 50%, HFpEF ≥ 50%; ACC/AHA keeps HFmrEF at 41–49%).
Upload a report, lab sheet or echo picture to fill this calculator automatically.
Sex
Only needed for fractional shortening; LVEF grading is the same for both sexes
LV ejection fraction
Enter LVEF directly, or end-diastolic and end-systolic volumes (Simpson biplane)
Supportive indices (optional)
LV systolic function
Enter LVEF (or LV volumes), FS diameters, GLS or WMSI.
